GlidePort Privacy Policy

The following data is collected and used by GlidePort for the purpose of providing the services on the Website to you and other Users, according to the GlidePort Terms of Use.

  1. Personal data which you enter or upload such as data that you enter when creating and maintaining your User account.

  2. Content data such as flight and location tracking data, flight trace data, glideport data, club data, contest data, turnpoint and task data and any associated data that you upload or is autonomously collected by GlidePort.

  3. Other data which is collected, processed, and used automatically while you use the Website. This includes your IP address, usage tracking, click sequences and clickstreams on the Website, search data, information on the time when you or third parties submitted data or modified existing data, and information generated by analysis of your flight tracks.

Third Parties

Forwarding of information to third parties may take place when you publish content on a third party website (such as social sites Facebook and Twitter). When you elect to do so, you must ensure that you understand what private information you have elected to share with these parties.

GlidePort uses certain third party services such as Google Maps and Google Analytics. While GlidePort does not forward any private information to these third party sites, you may be tracked by these services for technical or other reasons. Please refer to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy for these services.

Use of Cookies

GlidePort requires that your browser has cookies enabled. Cookies are used by the system to track your session while using GlidePort. These types of “session cookies” do not contain any private information, but are used to maintain a state of communication between your browser and the server. A cookie may be also used for usage tracking purposes (3).

GlidePort uses third party services such as Google Maps and Google Analytics. These services may use cookies for tracking or other purposes. Please refer to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy for these services.

Local Browser Storage

GlidePort uses the Local Storage browser mechanism to store some User preferences such as selections, button states, map zoom level, etc. No personal information is stored in Local Storage. See your browser help page for information how to delete Local Storage data.

Use of SSL

GlidePort normally uses the regular http transfer protocol (unencrypted, in the clear) to transfer data between the server and your client browser. However, sensitive data such as your password that you type in order to login is transferred via the https transfer protocol (encrypted).
