The following data is collected and used by GlidePort for the purpose of providing the services on the Website to you and other Users, according to the GlidePort Terms of Use.
Personal data which you enter or upload such as data that you enter when creating and maintaining your User account.
Content data such as flight and location tracking data, flight trace data, glideport data, club data, contest data, turnpoint and task data and any associated data that you upload or is autonomously collected by GlidePort.
Other data which is collected, processed, and used automatically while you use the Website. This includes your IP address, usage tracking, click sequences and clickstreams on the Website, search data, information on the time when you or third parties submitted data or modified existing data, and information generated by analysis of your flight tracks.
Your email is used as your unique login identifier and for autonomous notification purposes. In order to gain full access to GlidePort you are required to provide a valid email address which is verified during the registration process. No other Users see your email address. Currently, your email address cannot be changed other than by system administrator.
TipTop is committed to ensuring privacy and we will not sell or distribute your email or give out your contact information to third parties.
Your password is stored in the database in a one-way encrypted form. This ensures that while the system can use it to authenticate you, the password can not be decrypted into clear text.
Your full name, photo, contest number, glider model and registration, country and club of association, profile description, and tracker URLs. These are editable by you via various “Settings” pages. You are required to use your real name. The purpose of this data is to provide rich content in the GlidePort app. This data is displayed as part of the content in various GlidePort pages to you and other users. Note that GlidePort terms of use expressly prohibit the harvesting of this information.
Your national organization member number (such as SSA number for US pilots) is used to associate you with the contest tracking information that GlidePort receives from the sponsoring organisation. No other users can see your member number, and we will not give this information to third parties.
The purpose of the flight track data upload by you or autonomously collected by GlidePort, and club, glideport, contest, turnpoint, task as well as any other data that you enter or upload is to provide rich content by the app to you, other users and public in general. This includes derived information such as evaluation of flight performances, analysis of flight data from a log file and information generated from this information. This data is stored permanently in the database.
Flight tracks from various tracking devices such as SPOT and DeLorme inReach are autonomously collected by GlidePort based on the tracker URLs that you provided, or are obtained as public information or provided to us by a third party as public information. If you decide that you do not want GlidePort to autonomously collect your tracking information, you can opt out by switching off your SPOT Shared Map page on the findmespot.com website, or by switching off your MapShare inReach page or by setting a password on the page on the explore.delorme.com website.
The usage tracking data automatically collected by the server is used for statistical and administration purposes, and to improve the user experience on the Website. The analysis of the usage data includes detection and prevention of misuse per Terms of Use.
We will not sell or distribute your usage data to third parties.
Forwarding of information to third parties may take place when you publish content on a third party website (such as social sites Facebook and Twitter). When you elect to do so, you must ensure that you understand what private information you have elected to share with these parties.
GlidePort uses certain third party services such as Google Maps and Google Analytics. While GlidePort does not forward any private information to these third party sites, you may be tracked by these services for technical or other reasons. Please refer to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy for these services.
GlidePort requires that your browser has cookies enabled. Cookies are used by the system to track your session while using GlidePort. These types of “session cookies” do not contain any private information, but are used to maintain a state of communication between your browser and the server. A cookie may be also used for usage tracking purposes (3).
GlidePort uses third party services such as Google Maps and Google Analytics. These services may use cookies for tracking or other purposes. Please refer to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy for these services.
GlidePort uses the Local Storage browser mechanism to store some User preferences such as selections, button states, map zoom level, etc. No personal information is stored in Local Storage. See your browser help page for information how to delete Local Storage data.
GlidePort normally uses the regular http transfer protocol (unencrypted, in the clear) to transfer data between the server and your client browser. However, sensitive data such as your password that you type in order to login is transferred via the https transfer protocol (encrypted).
